The James Dunbar bottles featured on this website have been collected on Ebay, second-hand shops/car-boot sales and begging them from Edinburgh and Leith pub displays. The finds have been allocated three digit numbers to help identify and distinguish them.
Generally, the older Maryfield bottles are branded as 'Dunbars' and the younger Albion Road ones are 'James Dunbar'. It seems to be trickier to find recent Albion Road bottles which possibly reflects that the glass became thinner, and more breakable. Many bottles were made in Portobello. |
